Abu Dhabi: April 13, 2026: The UAE capital is gearing up to host the “Run for the Nation” Sports Run, set to start at 8:00 AM on 18 April from Wahat Al Karama, with wide, free participation for all community members in an event that brings together sport and national spirit.
The run is to promote the spirit of community, physical fitness and reinforce the values of belonging to the nation. Additionally, we offer respect for the noble sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs, whose memory is honoured at Wahat Al Karama – one of the UAE’s most prominent national landmarks.
The run is expected to attract thousands of participants, alongside their families, a broad audience of sports and community enthusiasts, and those who take pride in the spirit of the UAE.
In a press statement on the significance of the event, Lt.Gen.(Rtd.) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi emphasized that the run embodies the leadership’s vision of strengthening and instilling national values among all. He noted that the “Run for the Nation” carries a profound humanitarian and national message, combining sport with appreciation for the efforts of frontline heroes in the fields of honor and dignity, while fostering a spirit of belonging and social cohesion.
He added that the run embodies a community-driven experience, open to all who consider the UAE their home, offering a meaningful opportunity to celebrate their connection and sense of belonging regardless of background, nationality, or pace.
Al Kaabi further emphasized that the organizing committee has ensured free participation while upholding the highest standards of organization and safety. He invited community members to actively take part in this event, which reflects the unity, cohesion, and positive spirit of UAE society.
This event forms part of a series of sports and community activities taking place across Abu Dhabi throughout April, as part of ongoing efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, enhance quality of life, and strengthen values of loyalty and belonging among all segments of society, in line with the UAE’s culture of coexistence and tolerance.
