The Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) has launched four international public tenders to select specialized service providers to conduct Mystery Guest Visits in tourist accommodation establishments across Morocco.
These evaluation missions aim to objectively assess the level of service quality and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the country’s hospitality standards. The focus will be on Mystery Guest Visits to a wide range of establishments, including Hotels, Hotel Clubs, Tourist Residences, Guesthouses, Riads, and Kasbahs, classified from Luxury to 3-star.
These Mystery Guest Visits represent a key innovation in the new hotel classification reform introduced under Law 80-14 and its implementing regulations. They will enable an objective assessment of the actual quality of service provided in the targeted establishments, ensuring that the service delivered aligns with the assigned classification. This approach is part of a broader ambition to elevate Morocco’s accommodation offer to international standards and enhance its competitiveness in the global tourism market.”
The Mystery Guest Visits are part of a strategic initiative to strengthen Morocco’s position on the global tourism stage. The Kingdom now ranks first on the African continent, an achievement that must be preserved and reinforced considering growing international competition and the major milestones ahead, including the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This flagship project aims to sustainably transform the national accommodation offer and create a lasting competitive edge over other destinations.
