Poland: Dr. Jamal Al-Majaydeh

Visiting Poznan in the fall is amazing and exciting to do this beautiful season in the exceptional components of nature. I arrived in this charming city located in western Poland, in the afternoon coming from Dubai on board “Fly Dubai” in an attempt to explore this historic city.
After arriving at the ANDERSIA Hotel, we had lunch at the Flavoria restaurant in the same hotel. We headed to the Old Market Square accompanied by Alexander Radowski, representative of the Poznan Tourism Board, where the vibrant landmarks of the ancient city combine history, culture and modern life.
During that tour accompanied by a member of the cast from the era of nobility who came carrying his sword and wearing those fur and colorful clothes from the sixteenth century, I noticed that Poznan is distinguished by its rich history and unique heritage.

We visited the Town Hall, a jewel of the Polish Renaissance dating back to the 16th century. Inside the large hall with its original richly decorated dome is the beautiful building that houses the Museum of the History of Poznan.
The tourist board had prepared a full program for us to make Poznan unforgettable, so it was a good time to walk around and visit the sights.

Also to enjoy outdoor adventures in addition to taking wonderful trips in the surrounding natural areas and exploring the beautiful forests and charming lakes and hiking among the natural forests and oak trees.
After the tour ended, we headed to the Fromazeria restaurant, which is listed on the Michelin list, for a traditional Polish dinner.
Tourist destination
Poznan is a wonderful tourist destination in Poland, combining natural beauty and architectural heritage. Founded in the 10th century, it is one of the oldest cities in Poland. It has a population of about 550,000 people and is distinguished by its delicious cuisine and unique food experiences.

Radowski said: Poznan is located on the Warta River in western Poland, and is famous for combining the past and the present with all their wonderful details. Tourists coming from the GCC countries and from all over the world will find all kinds of entertainment, ancient buildings that abound in its old town, the old market square that reflects the beauty of the majestic Gothic architecture, and churches with Baroque architecture. In addition to historical museums and art galleries that tell the history of the city’s development in general, and Poland in particular;
He explained that the city is widely known for its local and international restaurants, modern shopping and entertainment centers, hotels and tourist resorts, as well as its vast green spaces, lush forests and beautiful waterfalls. He stressed that Poznan is one of the most famous tourist destinations that offers a distinctive vacation for all those coming from the Gulf countries and others.

Strategic location
Poznan is located in the west of Poland and on the road between Berlin and Warsaw. It is the main city in Wielkopolska, in addition to being one of the largest and oldest tourist cities in Poland. The city is currently one of the most prosperous cities in Poland, as it includes a rich history with wonderful architecture in addition to the development it is witnessing. The city attracts many visitors from the Gulf countries, Europe and America.
Old Market Square
The next day of the trip, we toured the Old Market Square, which is the third largest square in Poland. The buildings surrounding it were destroyed during World War II, but they were restored and returned to their wonderful beauty as before. It is one of the most popular places for tourists and locals as it is close to the city hall, museums and cafes. It is also surrounded by colorful buildings and charming side streets, and many celebrations and musical performances are held there.

Poznań’s Old Town Square is incredibly beautiful, and you would consider it one of the most beautiful squares in the whole of Europe. It is a wonderful, vibrant destination that combines a mixture of historical buildings and modern places. Restaurants, shops and a few museums occupy the square’s buildings. The
Goat Monument
This monument was designed by Robert Sobociński and is one of the landmarks that attracts a large number of tourists to the city every year. Legend has it that two goats escaped from the kitchen while preparing a banquet for the governor and went to the clock tower. The residents took this as a good sign, and hence a mechanical show was dedicated to them at exactly twelve o’clock every day.
St. Martin’s croissant
is a type of food that is considered one of the most famous pastries in Poland in general. It is made mainly of white pastry and poppy seeds, which is made only in Wielkopolska. On November 11, croissants are eaten by citizens and tourists, about 250 tons of them, out of about 1.25 million pieces, because of their association with a memory for the residents.
Poznań History Museum
This museum is located in the Old Town Hall, which has a Gothic architectural style dating back to the late thirteenth century AD. The Poznań History Museum contains many collections that document the history of the city over hundreds of years of its existence. They are divided into periods as follows: from the tenth century to the mid-fifteenth century, from the mid-fifteenth century to the late seventeenth century, and from the nineteenth century to 1918 and to the present day.
Cittadella Park

Citadella is one of the largest parks in Poznań, located in a fortified area dating back to the 19th century. In addition to the vast green spaces, trees and green plants, it includes a museum, military cemeteries, remains of some fortifications, a collection of headless statues and distinctive sculptures. It is a wonderful place and must be visited when you come to the city to learn about some of the events that Poland has gone through.
Raczynski Palace Museum
The program included a visit to the famous Roglin area, accompanied by Wojciech Mania, Director of the Tourism Promotion Department at the Poznań Tourism Board. We had a great time in that area surrounded by palaces, gardens and natural forests. The tour began at the Raczynski Palace Museum, which is dedicated to unique regional history and arts. It is located in a Baroque palace surrounded by a large garden decorated with oak trees over 700 years old, and dates back to the 18th century. This museum consists of several floors that include many distinctive exhibits that attract large numbers of tourists.

We also visited the Royal Castle, which dates back to the 13th century AD, which was destroyed during World War II and has been restored again. It has a distinctive architectural character, and is home to the Museum of Applied Arts and the unique tower that offers the most beautiful panoramic view of the entire city. After the tour, we had lunch at Bazar 1838 restaurant. Lunch was followed by a tour of one of the oldest historical buildings in Poznań, which has been converted into a shopping center that combines authenticity and modernity.
In the evening, we headed to dinner at the Michelin-starred THE TIME restaurant in the Melenska area.
Stupnica Castle
On the third day of the trip, we headed by Land Rover SUV to the Nautica Forest in western Poland, which is home to the Stupnica Castle, which is being built in the medieval style.
The Public Relations Manager of the company that owns the giant castle says, “The construction of the Stobnica Castle began in 2015, on an island in the middle of Lake Stobnica. The castle consists of luxury villas and residential apartments from the inside, and it may be sold only to the wealthy and businessmen.”

We toured the castle with the manager and Radowski, it really looks like the Middle Ages in all its details, it consists of 15 floors rising in the middle of a pure natural paradise about 50 kilometers from the city of Poznan, we took a wooden boat tour on the lake to see the giant castle from different angles, it is impressive and amazing!
After the end of that exciting tour, we headed to the Weranda Home Resort in the middle of the famous Zielonka Forest near Poznan, had lunch, then toured the neighboring Lake Malta and the popular market held in that area.
After returning to Poznan, we had dinner at the PORT SOLACZ restaurant, which was established a hundred years ago in the middle of a beautiful forest on the outskirts of the city.
The next morning we took a car to the historic city of Krakow, which is about five hours away from Poznan.
