Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, which is among the top 10 busiest airports in Europe, continues to expand its global network by connecting the world’s tourism centers to Istanbul with new routes.
Air Cairo will operate Cairo (CAI) Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) flights twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday, using the Embraer E-190 LR with a capacity of 109 seats. The airline company aims to increase its flight frequency to 5 per week in the coming period.
Within the scope of the airport’s new cooperation, Egypt-based airline company Air Cairo made its first flight to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (İSG) on June 6, 2024. Passengers of the first Air Cairo flight were welcomed with a water jewelry ceremony and were welcomed with flowers and chocolates at the terminal.
Air Cairo CAI line will strengthen the ties between Cairo, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1979, and Istanbul, another magical city famous for its rich history and culture. Thus, transportation to the Cairo Museum, the Pyramids region and the Nile River area, which are of interest to tourists in Egypt, will become easier and more comfortable than Sabiha Gökçen.
